Konami and Tencent team up for a new Contra Mobile game. Here’s its first trailer.

Contra is really a classic arcade side-scrolling shooter from the early console/arcade days which was known for standing on the rather challenging aspect when talking about its difficulty level. Because the original game’s release, there has been a few add-ons to the franchise, which being challenging in their own right and keeping that difficulty level tradition alive.

Now it appears as though mobile gamers will be getting their very own Contra game, appropriately named Contra Mobile, and it’ll be a team effort from Konami and Tencent. While there isn’t a lot of details right now about what all includes Contra Mobile, a clip that simply came out does give us an idea of what don’t be surprised. Visually, Konami is not using a retro look, but instead is bringing more modern graphics to this mobile Contra game, which is a very good decision in my books. There is nothing wrong with the original Contra game at all, or the retro titles within the franchise, but there’s another thing to become said about modernizing a classic. Also it looks good too.

As for that gameplay, Contra Mobile looks to help keep with the tradition of the Contra game being quite challenging as well as preserving the fast-paced style of gameplay the series is renowned for. So if you’re experienced with Contra games, this makes you content to understand. If you aren’t experienced with them, you’ll be dying a great deal initially.

Right now there is not sure on whether or not this might find the sunshine of day globally, although it ought to be a secure bet regarding a global release. It wouldn’t make much sense not releasing this in Europe and North America. Then again weirder everything has happened. Price-wise, Contra Mobile will be liberated to download and is envisioned having IAPs as well, which hopefully doesn’t get this to game a bit of a letdown. We’ll need to wait and see just what the IAPs end up being.

When we all know more, we will post an update. Meanwhile, you can enjoy the brand new trailer within the video above.
